In past days, rustic women were found cooking rice in an oval shaped vessel which was put on the charcoal fuelled furnace for the perfect heating. The vessel was filled to the brim with clean water and several cups of rice were poured into the container. Now a flat type disc was put on the mouth of vessel. Then they place the vessel on the burning furnace.
